Tesco, Apps and the changing face of retailing

I saw a new advertisement on the TV the other day – an ad for Tesco’s new app, which helps customers to scan items and then purchase them in Tesco’s online shop.

Here’s the ad:

I’m guessing that this app, as well as all of the related technology around it, has cost the company millions. This is the kind of thing that smaller regional and national retailers have to compete against.

Luckily, we think that we have a great alternative to spending huge amounts of money – by working with TapMap, retailers can quickly and easily send us product files and we can publish all of their products on a pre exsiting app – apps like Shop Savvy make it easy for local consumers to find the products they want in local stores. The retailer doesn’t have to make a huge investment in IT, or create a new app.

Retailers are changing, and but we think we can give local retailers the same power as Tesco – access to millions of users, users who want to buy local products, right now.

Retailers don’t need a new app – they need TapMap!
